Day One - My Everything Hurts

Well, I finished the first day of my new workout routine.  I survived… barely.  I can’t touch my shoulders right now.  Tomorrow will be my first day of cardio.

    I am betting you won’t be doing weights on wednesday (unless you broke up your work out into different muscle groups). There is no way you will recover in 1 day from your first weight routine in a long time! And my guess……you will be more sore on wednesday than you will be tomorrow! But its the most enjoyable kind of pain there is!

  2. It’s quite possible I won’t be going as heavy on Wednesday, but I will be lifting something for sure. I’m pretty sore today, so hopefully that means I’ll be (mostly) recovered by tomorrow. I’ll stick with my workout even if I’m only lifting 5lbs. or even empty handles.

    You’re right though, it is an enjoyable kind of pain.

    It’s a very enjoyable kind of pain. One day I will have a weight bench of my own, right after I get a big enough place in which to have such a weight bench.
    Might I suggest, if you are too sore to lift anything heavy next weight session, that you do plank roll up. I’m not sure if it’s already part of your routine, but it’s one of my favourite exercises and really works your core.

    I finished my first workout doing power cleans. I also did deadlifts. It was a great workout. I started off with 3 sets of deadlifts. Deadlifts always feel really good and get a nice sweat going.

    Since it was my first time doing power cleans, I started off using a small amount of weight, to get the proper technique down (well, it felt proper, but I am not sure if it was). I did a total of 5 sets (two with small amounts of weight and 3 with heavier weight). I have discovered my new favorite exercise. It worked up a major sweat and this was quite an intense work out. Much more intense than any work out I have completed with only 2 exercises. I can already feel that I am going to be really sore tomorrow!

  5. Well, I was pretty sore this morning and it got a little worse through the day. I got home from work and hopped on my bike, and after about 10 minutes on my bike, I was feeling loads better. I still don’t think I’ll be up for the same weight tomorrow as I did yesterday, but it will be better than had I not gone for a ride.

  6. Second workout was a lot less intense than the first one, but I’m sticking with it, you guys don’t get to nag me yet!

  7. I came pretty close to falling off the wagon today. Cale was being especially demanding, so I didn’t have any time to workout before he went to bed. After I put him to bed, it was very tempting to skip my workout. I thought about it for a bit, and decided that I wouldn’t give you guys the satisfaction of getting to harass me about it so soon. You’ll have to wait a little longer yet.

    That makes one week of workouts completed!
